CryptKeep is a web-based daily sign-in game where you receive customizable options for your castle by adventuring into the dungeon within the island daily.
Exploring the dungeon can yield rewards of different rarity with different cosmetic effects for your keep.
Why CryptKeep?
In the current NFT market, games based on NFTs are often viewed as investment opportunities. Developers present their ideas and sell tokens to raise funds for game development. Unfortunately,
this approach can make it prohibitively expensive for newcomers to NFTs or those seeking casual entertainment, with game tokens and items sometimes costing thousands of dollars. CryptKeep
presents a different approach. Our team committed to demonstrating a proof of concept to our players before making any NFTs available for purchase. CryptKeep is a free-to-play game, but if
you're interested in supporting our development and enhancing your island's customizability, you can buy our NFT. While purchasing our NFT allows players to customize different parts of their
island, it does not immediately unlock these customization options. Instead, players must earn different island customizations through daily sign-ins.
Our NFT is minted on the Polygon mainnet, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution. We opted for Polygon due to its low gas fees (transaction costs), which are just a fraction of a dollar. In line with our commitment to dispel the notion
of CryptKeep as an investment scheme, we mint our NFTs as ERC-1155 tokens with a very high cap on the number that can be created. This approach effectively diminishes the speculative value of our NFTs, as their abundance undermines
their potential for resale at higher prices. Looking ahead, we aim to leverage more Web3 technologies by developing smart contracts that will reward our players with in-game benefits.
Profits made by sale of our NFTs will be used for website hosting and to comission the creation of unique assets for CryptKeep.
Where is CryptKeep going?
CryptKeep is currently in the development process. Our team currently consists of two students from the University of Oregon, and we work on CryptKeep whenever we have free time to do so.
We update our changelog with any progress we make to display our continual updates.
